My name is Jo Gye-hong, director of the Korea Limestone New Materials Research Institute.
Since its establishment in 2003, the Korea Limestone Materials Research Institute has contributed to the research and development of Korea's resource industry and has strived to achieve sustainable growth in the local community.
There are many companies in Danyang and surrounding areas that process and utilize limestone, and it has played a role as a cornerstone of national industrial development. However, the manufacturing sector will also need to constantly respond to changes through more innovative technologies. - The Korea Limestone Materials Research Institute will find the direction in which resource technology should move in response to the rapidly changing industrial environment and strive to become a safety net that enables the domestic resource industry, including the cement, limestone, and lime industries, to coexist with the local community. In addition, we will take the lead in developing future technologies that have infinite development potential, such as the field of technology development for carbon neutrality, which has become a global topic, the field of energy using carbon dioxide, and the field of carbon reduction using the characteristics of limestone.
Now that the institute has celebrated its 20th anniversary, we will work hard to create a better tomorrow for Korea's resource industry. In the future, we promise to become a specialized research institute in the field of limestone resources and new materials that discovers demand-oriented core technologies according to the needs of the industry and faithfully fulfills the responsibilities required by the local community.
